Student Safety & Anti-Scam Guide

How to Spot Scholarship Scams & Protect Your Information

Golden rule: Legitimate scholarships never charge an application fee, processing fee, testing fee, or slot-reservation fee.

Warning Signs & Red Flags to Avoid

Never send money or share banking/wallet PINs or OTPs to claim a scholarship.

Requests for Processing or Slot Fees

Beware of fixers or social media pages asking for GCash/Maya transfers for "guaranteed slots," processing, or membership fees. Our directory automatically excludes fee-charging schemes from public search.

Phishing Forms Asking for PINs, OTPs, or Passwords

No government agency or university will ever ask for your GCash MPIN, Maya password, bank OTP, or social media password. Always verify that the portal uses an authentic official domain (.gov.ph, .edu.ph, or verified foundation site).

Check the Verification Date & Official Source Link

Every listing on Scholarship Finder PH links directly to the official announcement and shows when the source was last checked. If a listing was checked 30 or more days ago, always re-confirm dates on the provider’s page.

Report a Suspicious Link or Outdated Listing

Spotted a broken link, closed application window, or suspicious requirement? Send a correction report so our moderators can verify and update the catalog immediately.
